Praise not in pride nor envy,
Praise not from place of need,
Give praise, as you would to God,
High praise indeed!

Love’s light revealed

In thrall no more to earthly things,
raised on high to dwell with kings,
freed to fly on angel’s wings,
that mortal shrouds concealed.

When the bells of heaven ring,
lit by blaze of stars shining,
oh! how my soul shall sing!
with Love’s light revealed.

‘Til Your Glory comes to be!
‘Til we come and kneel to Thee!
Grant us God the Grace to yield,
and hearts to Hope for eyes to see,
Love’s light revealed.

Hearts to Hope for eyes to see,
Love’s light revealed.

Chanelling Dr Seuss #2

There are people who do,
There are people who don’t,
There are people who will,
There are people who won’t.
So well may you ask; who’s who?
The ones who don’t won’t
are the ones that will do.

May Flowers Grow

in this barren, silent space
once flowers grew
now winter’s frigid face
bears anger’s hue.

love like a river runs
let it overflow
love like the shining sun
shall thaw the snow, and,
with spring’s good grace;
may flowers grow.

Chanelling Dr Seuss #1

Maybe you’ll sink.
Maybe you’ll swim.
But you’ll never know,
Unless you dive in.

When you dive in,
You’ll swim as you think.
If you believe you can swim,
You can’t possibly sink.

Runner’s Life

I see life as a run Divine,
where Courage sees me cross the line,
and Patience sets the pace.
Perseverance makes every mile mine,
but it’s Faith that wins the race.

If you love yourself enough,
To believe that you can rise,
Then courage will build within you,
Until inaction becomes unbearable,
The leap of faith becomes irresistible,
And you grasp your own personal power.

If you love yourself enough,
To see the truth that all others may so rise,
Then empathy will build within you,
Until injustice becomes intolerable,
And you accept the responsibility to show the way,
With the humility to be so shown.

If you love enough,
To know the wisdom born of patience,
Then you will find peace,
And pass without regret,
From a life lived with integrity.

Arise my friend!
for you are a King!
In the palm of your hand
you hold every thing.
The holder of all
the ruler of none
for rule resides
in only the sum;
of all things.
Arise my friend!
a King amongst Kings!

Burst Forth It Must

What subtle stirring
awakens the trees?
The warmth of the sunshine?
The kiss of the breeze?
What subtle stirring
brings out the leaves?

Perhaps it’s this simple;
Each tree just believes,
to burst forth it must, and thus,
it comes to be.

Little Strings

Such fragile things,
of little strings
our human hearts are made.

But little strings don’t bind
our hearts and minds,
and from the path we’ve strayed.

As we trip and fall,
and rage against it all,
those little strings seem frayed.

The way is surrender,
trusting fingers tender,
wove little strings into a braid.
